What a fantastic week of learning about the characteristics/attributes of God! Isn’t it amazing to know that HE is Omnipresent (with us at all times), Omniscient (He knows everything) and Omnipotent (He has all power)? HE is amazing! Let’s learn more about HIS attributes:
God is Jehovah… I am who I am! Eternal, self-existing. Jehovah is used many times in the Bible for the name of the Lord.
God is Jehovah-Jireh, which means “God Provides” (Genesis 22:14). God provides for all our NEEDS… not our wants!
God is Jehovah-Shalom, which means “God of Peace” (Judges 6:23). God will allow peace in our lives if we obey Him!
God is Jehovah-Rophe, which means “God of Healing” (Exodus 15:26). God can heal our bodies, our hearts, our World.
God is Jehovah-Nissi, which means “God our Banner” (Exodus 17:15-16). God is the one that covers us and helps us with any problem we are having. We lift our hands in prayer and believe God will get us through.
Isn’t it reassuring to know that our Lord is all these things? He is there for us through the good and the bad. HE is exactly what we need at all times!
Your homework for this week: Remember these attributes of God. Memorize the names and what they mean.
