Dive into God’s Word03/12/2014 By Kristen Bannon
Did you have a good week? Were you obedient to the Lord? Did you trust and obey Him?
I had a better week! I trusted the Lord to know what is best for me and I obeyed as He showed me the way I should go. I wish I could say that I always do this, but I don’t.
I’m learning and working on my goals too! We all have goals and we all need to work on making sure the Lord is involved in each aspect.
This week we are learning more about diving into God’s Word. ”We have to habitually study the Word to really have confidence in God and know we can hear Him. The Bible is food for our spirit. As we spend time reading and meditating on Scripture, we develop a strong spirit. Then we can hear God speaking to our heart – where He dwells in us – and make decisions based upon what He’s leading us to do, not just what we may think, feel or want.” (Joyce Meyer) We need to be in God’s Word every day! We need to walk with God constantly.
For those of you that are new Christians and don’t know where to start, I would recommend Proverbs. There are 31 chapters and most months have 31 days. Start today with Proverbs 12 (because today is the 12th). Read one chapter a day to learn more about the Lord and what HE requires of us. Your homework for this week is to read at least one chapter a day in the Bible.
Next week: The book of the Bible that speaks to me as an ongoing Christian.
