Faith Leads to Obedience03/05/2014 By Kristen Bannon 1 Comment
Hebrews 11:6 ”And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
We MUST have faith in the Lord! If we have faith and earnestly seek God, He will reward us! Doesn’t that sound great?
So, did you put your faith in God last week? Did you remember that we are to believe that He knows what He is doing? It’s so much easier to give our problems, goals, dreams and daily activities to the Lord and trust that He is taking care of all of it!
This week we are learning about obedience. Richard Baxter said “Lord, whatever you want, wherever you want it and whenever you want it, that’s what I want.” Isn’t that one of our goals? To want whatever the Lord wants? Don’t we want to be in His will; to have His goals, to have His objective for our lives?
John 14:15 “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” Now, some of you are thinking… How do I obey when I don’t even know what He is asking me to do? That’s where the Bible comes into play. God gives us very specific commands, and the commands are more than just the 10 commandments. You need to get into God’s Word and obey Him.
Your homework for this week is to obey the Lord! You need to do whatever God has commanded you to do.
Next week: Diving into God’s Word!
