Blog:  Gifts on a Budget. Step #4:  Open a Christmas Club Account at your bank or another bank.  I have a Christmas Club Account at a Credit Union in a different city.  I send them checks (in the mail) to be deposited into that account.  The interest rate at the Credit Union is higher than at my regular bank.  I send money throughout the year to save for Christmas.  You can't take the money out until it matures.  My credit union sends me a check the beginning of November each year.  That way, I can start my Christmas shopping especially on Black Friday!  =)
