Blog:  Creative/Budget Friendly Date Ideas.  Idea #5:  Have dinner and a movie at home.  If you have kids at home, wait till they go to bed to have a late dinner at home.  Put out a nice blanket in the living room, have one of you pick up food from your favorite restaurant, then watch a movie while you eat.

Blog:  Creative/Budget Friendly Date Ideas.  Idea #4:   Recreate your first date.  If you have been together for awhile, it's always  nice to go back and do your first date all over again.  It brings back wonderful  memories of when you first started seeing each other!

Blog:  Creative/Budget Friendly Date Ideas.  Idea #3:
Go test drive cars, tour model homes or look at campers/RVs.  Each of these are
free to do.  As you do, think about and dream about your future.  Talk about the
things that you love to do.  Dream together of future possibilities.  Even
though you probably aren't in the market to buy these things, it's fun to
pretend together!

Blog:  Creative/Budget Friendly Date Ideas.  Idea #2:   Go to the beach/mountains/open field/park to have a gourmet picnic. Go to  the grocery store together and load  up your cart with gourmet crackers,  fancy
cheeses, decadent desserts and a drink of your choice.  Enjoy watching the  sunset as you talk to each other about what you like and are thankful for in the other person.

Blog:  Gifts on a Budget.  Step #6:  Look into thrift stores for gifts.  Many places have thrift stores (like:  Once Upon A Child) that sell new items.   They have many toys and clothes that still have the original tags on them.  You can buy these gifts for other people.  I buy gifts at these stores for my kids.  They are in excellent shape for more than half off the price, even if they aren't new.  People get these gifts, don't like them but don't know where to take them back for an exchange.  So, they sell them or give them to a thrift store.  This is how you get new items for cheap!  I have also found items at these stores that people collect.  They are excited to get a new item for their collection!

Blog:  Gifts on a  Budget. Step #5: Buy gifts throughout the year. When I see a gift that I know
someone will love, I go ahead and buy it.... especially if it is on  sale/clearance! I have a
"Christmas Notebook". I write the person's name and  what I bought, then I put the gift away in a place where I keep gifts (like the  back of a closet). When it gets closer to Christmas, I can look in my notebook
to see what I have already bought for different people. Plus, I know where I put  the gift because I put all the gifts in the same place. I even put the gifts in  a plastic bag and put the person's name on it - that it is intended for. This is  another way of spreading out the cost of Christmas throughout the year instead
of having to come up with a bunch of money close to Christmas.

Blog:  Gifts on a Budget. Step #4:  Open a Christmas Club Account at your bank or another bank.  I have a Christmas Club Account at a Credit Union in a different city.  I send them checks (in the mail) to be deposited into that account.  The interest rate at the Credit Union is higher than at my regular bank.  I send money throughout the year to save for Christmas.  You can't take the money out until it matures.  My credit union sends me a check the beginning of November each year.  That way, I can start my Christmas shopping especially on Black Friday!  =)

Blog:  Gifts on a Budget.  Step #3:  If you like to buy gift cards for Christmas gifts, you should buy them closer to the Christmas season.  Many restaurants give you a bonus gift card (around $10)  if you buy $50 - $100 in gift cards.    Last year, Walmart even gave a small discount on merchandise gift cards (not their own).  I believe it was around a $.50 savings on each gift card.  If you have many gift cards to buy from different places, you should start buying a couple each month  from now until Christmas.  It's just a little extra money out of each paycheck, but really helps when you get closer to Christmas and don't have to come up with all that money at once!  If you like to wait till closer to Christmas, most places will ship your gift card to your friend or family member free of charge.  Each year at Tax Return time, I try to buy several different gift cards to put away for birthday gifts throughout the year.  Some restuarants give discounts several times a year on their gift cards.  There is a restaurant in Tampa  on Ehrlich Road (La Casa Della Pasta) that is offering their $25 gift card right now for $10!  Keep your eyes out for deals like this that you can buy before Christmas to save you money!
