Blog:  Prepare Your Own Taxes!  Sometimes life's biggest changes can save you a bundle in taxes — if you know
how to take advantage of them.  What was new in your life last year? Did you get married or divorced, or
adopt a child? Did your parents move in — or your adult child? Did you lose a  house to a storm?
These and other major events often have tax consequences people are unaware  of — precisely because they are unusual, unlike, say, deducting donations. And  with big tax increases taking effect this year, it is all the more important for  taxpayers to seize any break they can.  (taken from:  money.msn.com)

Blog:  Prepare Your Own Taxes!  Beware of Fast Pay Loan Options     You will pay an exorbitant amount in fees and interest to receive your refund  just a week faster than normal. With the ability to file online, and with the
amount being direct deposited into your account, the estimated time to receive  your refund is about ten days. This is a reasonable amount of time to wait. A  little patience in the matter can save you hundreds of dollars.

Blog:  Prepare Your Own Taxes!  Preparing your own taxes will make you keep a better tracking system of  income and expenses.  Just dropping all your receipts in a shoe box  until the end of the year is no way to run a business.  When you have to sort  through all those receipts and remember what you purchased and why from last  February, believe me you will vow to get a better system and that will only help  you.

Blog:  Prepare Your Own Taxes!  Gain financial insight. An additional benefit to preparing your
own taxes is that it will give you a closer look at your finances, and what  effect certain saving options have on your return. For instance, I never  realized the amount of money you can deduct by making tax-deductible donations  until I started filing my taxes on my own. In fact, depending on your income tax  bracket, donating unwanted items could be more beneficial than selling them. I also learned to max out my IRA contributions each year to fully take  advantage of that credit.  (taken from: usnews.com)

Blog:  Prepare Your Own Taxes!  Have peace of mind. I have always had a tough time trusting my
tax return to an accountant. Not only are they overloaded this time of year, but  you could make an error communicating pertinent information, such as neglecting  to inform them of key deductions. However, if you have a complicated return that requires you to fill out and  file multiple forms, make sure you have a thorough understanding of the entire  procedure. Otherwise, you are better off with the assistance of a professional.

Blog:  Prepare Your Own Taxes!  File Early The refund process slows down the later you file your taxes. It is a good  idea to file as soon as you receive all of your forms in the mail. You may want  to wait until the first week of February to file, because businesses are  required to mail the forms by January thirtieth each year. If you miss the  deadline, you still need to file an extension by April eleventh. The extension  does have a fee attached to it, but you will save yourself a lot in penalties by  filing the extension.
