Minister to Others04/30/2014 By Kristen Bannon Leave a Comment

Which way did you choose to memorize your verse last week?  Did you try several different ways?  We need to keep memorizing verses to be able to minister to others.  In Philippians 2:4 it says “Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

When we minister to others we need to hit main topics to define the basic tenants of Christianity. We need to have memorized verses, at the ready, so we can minister anytime and anywhere.  Some of the main topics and related verses are:

1. God loves everyone:  John 3:16  “For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

2.  Everyone sins:  Romans 3:23 ”For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

3.  There is a penalty for sin:  James 1:15 “Then desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown, brings forth death.”

4.  Nothing we can do can pay sins penalty:  Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”

These are the first 4 basics to help you minister to others.  When looking at it, it may seem overwhelming; however, take it one verse at a time.  Use the ways we have discussed (use the clock, Popsicle sticks, writing it down, sticky notes) to help yourself.

Your homework is to memorize #1 (John 3:16).

Next week, we will learn the rest of the verses that are vital for you to have at the ready, verses to tie on your fingers and write upon your heart. (Proverbs 7:3)
